Welcome to Harvest Havoc! Your goal is to make as many Crop Coins as possible in 200 turns by harvesting your crops and selling them at your local market. Be careful - untended crops will explode, wreaking havoc on your farm!

Start your season by planting crops on the soil tiles. The seed cards describe sale value, special harvest effects, growth stages, and explosion patterns; plan accordingly!

Crops have three growth phases in their unique growth cycles:

  1. Growing: green circle. These crops are not ready for harvest.
  2. Ready for Harvest: yellow square. These crops are perfect for harvest.
  3. Overgrown: red diamond. Time is ticking - make sure to harvest soon to avoid havoc on your farm!

Once a crop is grown, hop over to that tile to collect it. From there, you can bring your crop back to the market to sell, or you can drop it on an empty tile if you are short on time. Make sure to harvest your crops before they fill up the overgrowth phase, or they will explode, destroying crops in the pattern on their seed card.

A single turn is comprised of 2 stages:

  1. Growth Stage: a growth card is drawn from a deck, which determines the set of crops that will grow. Some growth cards give you options.
  2. Action Stage: you start each turn with three movement. You can use this movement as you wish, performing as many actions as you would like. Actions include harvesting, selling, dropping and item, or picking it back up. You can also buy a utility card to help out on your farm.

The whole planting and moving puzzle concept on a grid is really nice and leads to nice decision trees early on. Different plants exploding differently and having unique grow patters was also a cool element.

Graphically the game is really nice and well made, things look crips.

Sound wise everything is cute and boppy the ost has a nice calming feel to it. I just wish it had better sound balance. On a normal system level it was a bit too loud.

Few things I would like to point out as consideration rather than flaw: Life system wasn’t really clear to me, but it could be just me being dumb. Sometimes I feel an explosion chain kills me from nowhere, sometimes it does no damage at all. Step count for this boardsize feels “wrong”(?). The fact the the tiles on the right need like 3 turns to get there and back, which could cause some plants to almost explode feels a bit oversight. With 200 turns on the clock I wonder if it would have been better to have 100 turns with like 5-6 steps each.

Otherwise really cool puzzle game about harvesting! Well done!
